Hainan leaders visit Phuket, hopes Hainan to become China’s Phuket

09 November 2009 – Deputy Governor of Hainan Provincial, Jiang Sixian, and his crew visit Phuket to participate in tourism industry, hopes Hainan to become China’s Phuket.

Phuket Governor, Wichai Praisa-ngob, and Phuket officers gave them a warm welcome at Phuket City Hall.

Wichai unveiled that Phuket and Hainan have been setting up a good relationship since 2005 and have been collaborate in tourism industry ever since.

“Phuket is well known as one of the world’s leading tourist destinations. The development of tourism industry must be moving forward together with the growth of Phuket itself. We have to gather all information from every aspect to achieve the best goal of being the world’s leading tourist destination.” said Wichai.

By comparison, Phuket and Hainan is almost exactly the same in size, geography and just crystal clear waters and white sandy beaches.

“We do hope that Hainan will become China’s Phuket.” said Sixian.
