Kamala Subdistrict Administrative Organization (Kamala SAO) launches cleaning project with the aim of bringing social responsibility to Kamala residence.
On June 23rd, Santi Atthasup, Vice President of Kamala SAO, Kathu, Phuket along with officers from the Phuket Provincial Administration Organization, inmates of Phuket Prison, and residents of Kamala area held an activity to clean the streets and sidewalks of Kamala to help to improve the beauty and cleanliness of the area. The Kamala area is currently becoming a major tourist destination within Phuket and Thailand. Therefore, Kamala has to be clean to create a good impression for tourists arriving in the area.
Santi said clean up activities in Kamala have been going on for some time. It is hoped that by holding these activities it will create awareness to people living in the area. Tourists who visit Phuket want to come to clean streets as well as beaches.
Cleaning activities will be held every Thursday by Kamala SAO as a pilot project, and it is hoped that villagers and the private sector will soon become involved. It is Santi’s belief that if people see the power of cooperation, the beauty and cleanliness of Kamala will quickly improve.
