Mr. Paiboon Upatising, the President of Phuket Provincial Administration Organization or PPAO led Mr.Manop Leelasuthanon, Secretary of PPAO, Mr.Watcharin Patomwattanapong, Deputy Permanent Secretary of PPAO, PPAO executives, PPAO staff with Mr.Somkeat Sangkhaosutthirak, Deputy Governor, phuket joined to welcome, Mr.Kittisak Hatthasongkroh, Deputy Minister of Transport and board who visited the area and listened briefing on the progress of construction of Chalong Marina project and Marina Management in one stop service center .
Mr.Paiboon said, a policy which Deputy Minister of Transport had implemented urgently, Once completed, the project will be turned over to PPAO replaced the Treasury Department and already oversees operation of the existing Chalong Marina and related facilities without having to bring revenue to the Treasury Department for about five years. Beside, Mr.Phuriphat Teerakulpisut, Chief of the Marine Department Region 5 office in Phuket Town, said opening of the 44-slip facility will improve the island’s ability to accommodate the growing number of yachts that port in Phuket or visit the island The one-stop service center will offer a variety of services including an Immigration arrivals and departure checkpoint, Customs and Immigration offices, a Marine Department Office and improved facilities for tourists, many of whom already use Chalong Pier to travel to other islands in and around Phuket,” he added. Beside, Mr.Kittisak Hatthasongkroh, Deputy Minister of Transport said, Chalong Marina had work on the 70-million-baht. Chalong Marina project is now about 90% complete and should be finished early on march of 2012.
