On June 28th 2010, at the meeting room of the new Phuket Provincial Hall, Pannee Sitthikarn, Head of Office of Social Development and Human Security Phuket or SDHSP, presided over a meeting of the provincial officers and related sectors.
The meeting focused on the results of formerly held discussions between government officers and community representative about social problems in Phuket and the solutions.
It was found that broken families and divorce cases ranked at 1st place for the top five social problems in Phuket. The other respective problems were deceived or sexually-abused children and youths, undesirable pregnancies, forest encroachments, plus disabled and needy people. Pannee said that SDHSP was planning and asking for more budgets to solve all the mentioned problems
