Assistant Commissioner General of Police visited Phuket

Pol. Lt. Gen. Ake Aungsananondh, the Assistant Commissioner General of Royal Thai Police (RTP), visited Phuket Provincial Police Station to reiterate measures against crime prevention and to help accident reduction in Phuket during the Songkran festival and all the year 2010.

He mentioned that the police must get catch any criminals and work in order to prevent accidents occurring on the island by getting participation from local residents and volunteers from many sectors.

Pol. Col. Wanchai Akeporapit, the Superintendent of Phuket City Police, reported to Pol. Lt. Gen. Ake Aungsananondh that there were 42 drunken drivers and 48 drug users caught during Songkran. During the festival, the police have efficiently worked together with local residents and volunteers to save people’s lives and assets.
