On March 26th, 2010, at the conference room of Phuket Provincial Hall, Teerayuth Aiumtrakul, a vice governor of Phuket, presided over a meeting of the Committee of Land Reform in Phuket, including Teerawut Thawornpattanawong, Head of Phuket Land Reform Office, Paitoon Lertkrai, the Phuket Land Officer, and other related officers.
The main agendas of the meeting were the performance report of Agricultural Land Reform Office (ALRO) in Phuket in 2010 and a consideration about stopping 4 farmers using land of ALRO. Those farmers are Herm Kensab, Samruai Thammawat, Wanna Nakkong, and Narong Thewakup. The committee agreed to postpone the consideration of this case and wait for explanation from those people.
Teerawut said that some investors intruded into the land of ALRO near Phuket View Point in Karon sub-district. The intruders built a road of 640 meters in length passing the land. ALRO therefore informed the case to Chalong Police Station and were investigating if the investors have got proper land ownership to build a resort in the mentioned area.
