On November 7th 2012 at the Princess Mother Memorial School, Phuket Governor – Mr.Maitree Inthusut, Head of Phuket Office – Mr.Prajead Auksornthammakul and Chief of Phuket Damrongtham Centre – Mr.Prapan Khanpraseng met to discuss the progress of the construction of the 600 meter elevated road section on Koh Phee Road, which joins T.Vichit and A. Muang.
Mr.Maitree said “People have waited over 10 years for the construction of this elevated road, which has been held up due to issues regarding mangrove areas. However, the Environment Board has now approved the project, and the Department of Rural Roads has been given a B170 million budget for 2013 and 2014. According to the plans, it is estimated that the construction will take about 2 years, will start at the beginning of 2013 and be completed in early 2015. However, I personally think this is too long, so we will do our best to complete it sooner.”
