Phuket Marine Police increase presence during Songkran

Phuket Marine Police increase presence during SongkranOn 11th April 2013 at Rasada Port Phuket, Phuket Marine Police Inspector – Chatchai Sakdee presided over a meeting with Marine Police Officials, representatives of Phuket’s Police Stations, Phuket Tourist Police and Kusoldharm Phuket Foundation regarding the security of tourists and citizens, both on land and sea, in the areas of Phuket and Phang Nga Bay during the Songkran Festival.

Inspector Chatchai said “There will be an increased number of patrol cars in operation during Songkran to ensure the security of citizens and tourists in Phuket. Marine Police will be out monitoring the Pier to ensure the arriving travelers are safe and facilitated and more so to prevent an accidents, especially marine accidents. ”

“During Songkran, Phuket Marine Police will also have four patrol boats out checking that all passengers on ferries and boats are wearing life jackets” he added.
