Tesco Lotus Phuket launches project called Green Bag Green Point

On March 30th, 2010, at Tesco Lotus Phuket, Smith Palwatwichai, a Vice Governor of Phuket; Jirasak Dharmawej, head of Phuket Energy Office; and Saofang Ekaluckrujee, the senior manager of Tesco Lotus Public Activities Corporation, presided over the project opening of ‘Green Bag Green Point’.

The project encourages people to use less plastic bags by buying giving reward points for people who use fabric bags whilst shopping at Tesco Lotus. One fabric bag gets one reward point. Shopping lovers can also get 25 green points by buyingne of the green products including eco-friendlier lights, files, white erasers, insecticides, bathroom cleaners, or rubbish bags etc. The green points can be used to get special privileges from the department store.
