Phuket to release fish and corals seized from illegal marine life traders

Paitoon Panchaiyaphum, the Director of Marine and Coastal Resource Conservation Center 5 Phuket (MCRCC Phuket) said that the police had seized the fish and coral from illegal marine life traders that MCRCC Phuket and Police have kept eyes on, as these people were involved with outlawed business which has been increasing.

Consequently, there were lots of people arrested in this case and all the marine life like sea fish and of corals were taken care by MCRC Phuket before they are released back to the sea on April 3rd, 2010, in the area of Tai Muang Bay, Phang Nga. Apart from seized fish and corals, some giant clams and sea turtles will be released on the same day. Paitoon mentioned that officers would follow up the released animals and monitor activity in the Andaman Sea to make sure the animals would be safe from catching.
