Phuket Rajabhat University prepared themselves for starwatching tonight

17 November 2009 – Phuket Rajabhat University prepared themselves for Leonid meteor shower. Skywatchers are welcome at the university’s football field from 02.00-04.00 in the early morning of November 18th, 2009.

It is predicted 100 meteors per hour over the PKRU. The meteor showers will peak at 02.00-04.00 am. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sakchai Petchchuai of faculty of science, Phuket Rajabhat University expects 300-500 people to gather at the university tonight.

“The best viewing will be in rural areas where nothing block your sight and no light pollution. Just your naked eyes is enough.” said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sakchai.

    I taught at PKRU for sixteen years English and German. I had to come home to Toronto, Canada for knee surgery. I left Phuket May 1, 2010 but will be back in Muang Phuket on Nov. 5 If anybody remembers me pleae send me an e-mail. tonybouwman@yahoo.com
