Phuket holds meeting for tourism in the Andaman provincesOn 12th October 2012 at Phuket Provincial Hall,  Mr.Visit Jaiart – Advisor to the Prime Minister, together with  Mr.Prasit Koysiripong – Advisor to the President of Pheu Thai Party Phuket office, Mr.Viroj Phootong – Vice President for Songklanakarin University Phuket Campus, Mr.Chawalit Na Nakorn – Vice President of PPAO, Dr.Prajead Arksornthammakul – Head of Phuket, and  Mr.Pichit Boonrod-from the Office of Strategic Andaman provinces attended a meeting with Dr.Sommai Preechasilp-Deputy Governor of Phuket.

The meeting was held to discuss and brainstorm ideas and to determine the direction of the development plan for the tourism industry in the Andaman province.

The plan is aimed at highlighting the tourist features of each of the 6 Andaman provinces; Phuket, Phang Nga, Krabi, Ranong, Trang and Satun. It is important the main features of each province are highlighted to support the areas tourism, such as Krabi being known for its natural spa water, similar to Japan’s onsen. Thap Put district, Phang Nga province and Phuket have their own unique style of culture.

The results of this brainstorming will be presented to the Minister attached to the Prime Minister on October 15th 2012.
