Thailand is considering waiving spa tax

Finance Minister Korn Chatikavanij said in the opening ceremony of 16th Thailand’s travel fair  at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (3-6 September) that the ministry is considering waiving 10 percent tax on spa businesses to promote the tourism.

However, the waiving would apply only to spas that are certified by the Public Health Ministry, not to those pretend-to-be spas.

Said also Minister Korn that there were signs of tourism recovery as the numbers of foreign visitors and overseas flights were increasing.
