Christoph Berger, General Manager, Outrigger Phuket Beach Resort, is pleased to announce the appointment of Selina Chan as Director of Sales & Marketing for the property, which is scheduled to open 15 March 2013, following a major renovation of the resort.
Ms Chan, a Malaysian national, has a 27-year history in hospitality marketing and sales in Asia and Australia. Before joining Outrigger, she was Group Director of Sales & Marketing for the 1,332-room Mangrove Tree Resort in Sanya, Hainan, China.
She brings to Outrigger extensive senior experience with YTL Resorts (Malaysia), Travelocity, Zuji, Asia Web Direct, Reliancetravel.com, assorted hotel companies, and Air Vanuatu, where she was part of the start-up team. Ms Chan also has an in-depth knowledge of how search engines work and e-CRM strategies.
“Selina is very focused on digital marketing and has strong relationships with tour operators, travel agencies and DMCs,” said Berger. “Her leadership skills and extensive all-around sales and marketing experience will help us establish Outrigger Phuket Beach Resort as an iconic resort property in Thailand.”
Ms Chan speaks English, Malaysian, Mandarin, Cantonese and Hokkien, as well as some Spanish and German.
Her core skills include inventory distribution, revenue management, eCRM, loyalty programmes, direct versus indirect online channel optimization, customer segmentation, feeder market maximization and SEO. She is adept at conceiving and implementing online marketing and social media strategies.
The Outrigger Phuket Beach Resort will be the second Outrigger property in Laguna Phuket, joining the Outrigger Laguna Phuket Resort and Villas, which it has managed since August 2009.
