Phuket’s HeadStart International School to open new facility

Phuket’s HeadStart International School to open new facility Today, 20th November 2013, at HeadStart International School, a press conference was held to announce that the school has now signed contracts for the purchase of a new school property. They are currently planning the construction phase of the project and will be submitting the construction plans for approval by early December. The construction of the new facilities is set to start by March 2014 and scheduled to be completed by May of 2015, in time for the beginning of the 2015 academic year.

Phuket’s HeadStart International School to open new facility Initially founded in 2005 as a Homeschool Center, HeadStart has rapidly evolved and developed and is now one of Phuket’s leading International Schools. They pride themselves in having maintained and achieved their original vision and commitment to build and support a dedicated team of professional educators who work together to provide a quality teaching and learning environment for  Phuket’s international and culturally diverse community.

As a result of these commitments, HeadStart has grown from 62 students and 34 staff in 2009 to their current 450 students and 112 staff representing 38 nationalities.

Phuket’s HeadStart International School to open new facility The new HeadStart International School will be built on 15 rai of land next to the Wichit Police Station on Nasua Road which connects Chao Fah West and Muang Chao Fah Road. The new school will accommodate up to 750 students from 18 months to 18 years old and will have more than 12,000 sqm of purpose built educational facilities. These facilities will enable them to:

– Increase the number of programmes offered to secondary students
– Allow for more space per student in each classroom
– Improve sporting programmes and events
– Have larger purpose built playgrounds and rest areas for students and parents
– Provide additional parking spaces and safer pick up/drop off areas for students
– Offer more diversity in after school activities and camps
– Further develop art and music programmes
– Organise musical and theatre performances and concerts for the local community
– Increase the efficiency, productivity and organisation of teaching and management staff by allowing more dedicated work and storage areas.
