After Banyantree Holdings Group had announced it would sell one of its hotels in Phuket, the Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket, the Dusit International Company who currently manage the hotel, bought the property and will soon become the new owner of the Dusit Thani Hotel.
Chanin Tonawanik, the President of Dusit International’s executive board, said that Dusit Thani ranked in top place for the hotel group with high profits under their management. Even though profit dropped due to the political crisis or whatever reasons, he believed that Phuket’s tourism potential and good business alliance with the Banyan Tree group would support the hotel to be more successful.
He added that the report of STR Global on the topic of ‘Strong Recovery in Southeast Asia’ showed that Phuket in the first half of 2010 got 36.7% of Revenue Per Average Room or RevPAR higher than its score in the same time of last year. It also ranked in the second place of resorts most developed in Southeast Asia. Meanwhile, the RevPAR of Dusit Thani Laguna increased 16.5% in the past 12 months. The score was higher that other hotels in Phuket whose average rate increased 9.8%.
Dusit Thani Laguna hotel is located on BangTao Beach, Phuket. The hotel has 226 rooms, 6 Ocean Front pool villas, and 22 Laguna pool villas, with Laguna’s Latitude meeting marquees for 1,000 guests with full facilities.
