Dusit International reaffirms the confidence in the Thai tourism as its continuing recovery and the highly-anticipated increase of the number of inbound tourists in 2011 will boost hotel industry’s growth and that tourist attractions in Phuket are still highly popular among foreign visitors. The Company is setting up regional offices to penetrate the Middle East, Indian and Chinese markets, as well as participating in many travel shows to promote its hotels and accommodation facilities and placing more focus on online marketing to attract international customers. Dusit is optimistic about the growth momentum of the tourism industry and its improving occupancy rates.
Mr. Chanin Donavanik, Chief Executive Officer of Dusit International, revealed the hotel business’s positive outlook over this year’s last quarter and next year in terms of occupancy rates, due to the improving political climate. More foreign tourists are visiting the country’s major destinations, particularly Phuket, which still proves hugely popular among both foreign and local vacationers.
One of Dusit International’s distinguished properties, Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket, is enjoying the rising booking orders for the fourth quarter of this year and next year. Foreign airliners’ decision to add more charter and direct flights to the island province is a good sign for the hotel’s business growth. Meanwhile, some of Thailand’s most renowned destinations like Chiang Mai and Hua Hin also have growth potentials and the Company is constantly conducting sales and marketing activities for its hotel and resort including dusitD2 chiang mai and Dusit Thani Hua Hin.
“The hotel industry’s prospect is bright, as the figure of inbound tourists keeps rising and is expected by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to reach 15 million this year and 15.5 million next year and bring over THB 600 billion to the country. This clearly shows the industry’s promising future,” said Mr. Donavanik.
The CEO added that his corporate group is looking to secure more guests by focusing more on the lucrative Asia-Pacific and Middle East markets. The Company has established a regional office in Dubai and is in the process of opening more offices in India and China. The hotel group is also seeking new marketing opportunities for expansion of its hotel business and plans to establish its first regional office in Europe.
In addition, Dusit is actively participating in both domestic and international travel tradeshows to introduce its hotels and resorts to prospective customers, as well as launching promotional campaigns through television commercials on the BBC and Star Channels to communicate with the Asian-Pacific and European tourists regarding its services.
Its undergoing improvement of the website www.dusit.com is expected to finish by this year-end. The Company will launch more online marketing campaigns to cater to the increasing popularity of Internet hotel booking. All these aggressive marketing strategies are projected to contribute to ever more impressive occupancy rates of its hotels and resorts.
