IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group), the world’s largest hotel group by number of rooms, is pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Morley as General Manager for Holiday Inn Resort Phuket Mai Khao Beach.
Simon is fully responsible for resort’s operations and management, and will play a pivotal role in leading his staff ahead of Holiday Inn Resort Phuket Mai Khao Beach’s official opening on 9 September 2011. He is also in charge of maintaining the service standards associated with the Holiday Inn brand and work towards bringing the overall guest experience to the highest level possible.
Simon, an Australian national, graduated from the University of Hawaii, Honolulu, USA with qualifications in Hotel Management. He has over 10 years of experience within the hospitality industry, first joining IHG as a Front Office Manager at InterContinental Resort Al Ain, United Arab Emirates, and later as Revenue Manager of Crowne Plaza Hotel Dubai. Since then, he has moved across regions, working in Melbourne, Australia as a Cluster Revenue Manager, and in Seoul, South Korea, joining Grand InterContinental Hotel Seoul as an Executive Assistant Manager. After which, Simon returned to the Middle East region as a Resident Manager at Al Bustan Palace InterContinental Muscat, Oman.
Prior to his current appointment, Simon was the General Manager at Holiday Inn Clark, Pampanga, Philippines. Throughout his career, Simon has been consistent in his achievements, successful in driving revenues and increased guest and staff satisfaction. His wealth of knowledge and experience has more than prepared him for his new role at Holiday Inn Resort Phuket Mai Khao Beach.
